Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage of the 2nd local oscillation frequency by converting the intermediate frequency component of a CATV converter into a balanced signal, by applying it to the 2nd mixer circuit, and by connecting a lambda/2 circuit, which tunes to the 2nd local oscillation frequency, to the output of said mixer circuit. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate frequency output fi amplified by an intermediate frequency amplifying circuit 1 is converted by IF coils 10 and 11 into a balanced signal, which is applied to mixer diodes 12 and 13 with the opposite phase. The 2nd local oscillation frequency component f , on the other hand, is picked up by coils 24 and 25 and applied to the diodes 12 and 13 with the same phase. Since the diodes 12 and 13 are connected to both terminals of lambda/2 circuit 14 resonating at the 2nd local oscillation frequency, the diodes generate an out-of-phase voltage (f -fi) and the frequency component f is canceled by the lambda/2 circuit, thus reducing the leakage to an output signal.
