Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the local abrasion of a valve lifter by biasing the central axial line of the valve lifter with respect to the center surface of a cam face.
CONSTITUTION: The valve lifters 20, 21 are engaged with the tip ends of the steams of suction and exhaust poppet valves 10, 11 while the cam faces 30, 31 are abutted against the valve lifters 20, 21. The extensions of the central axial lines for the suction and exhaust poppet valves 10, 11 are situated in the imaginary central surfaces of the cam faces 30, 31 while the extensions of the central axial lines for the valve 20, 21 are deviated from the imaginary central surfaces of the cam faces 30, 31 into a direction keeping both of them away each other.
