Abstract

PURPOSE:To vary the timing and lift level of a valve by changing contacts of cams through multiple combination of various cam profiles in a cam section composed of cams for low and high rotation in such a manner that they are connected together smoothly. CONSTITUTION:Cams for low, medium and high rotation are connected together smoothly in a multiple combination to form a cam section 3. A cam shaft employing cams of such type are moved in the thrust direction so as to change the cam section with a locker arm 1 and other drive intermediate devices whereby the timing and lift level of a valve can be varied.
