Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an electrostatic clay paper where particles are removed easily after heating and coloring, by providing a coloring layer, which includes active clay and has a low surface resistance value, on a base paper and by superposing a dielectric layer, which can transmit colorless sublimating dyes, onto the coloring layer.
CONSTITUTION: Coloring layer 3 consisting of 100pts.wt. active clay 2, 20W 80pts.wt. white inorganic powder (one or both of CaCO3 and SiO2) to prevent coloring layer 3 from yellowing and to improve the heat resistance and a binder such as a styrene-butadiene copolymer for setting the surface resistivity to ≤109Ω and enhancing strength of film 3 is formed on base paper 1. Next, dielectric layer 4 of the surface resistivity of ≥1012Ω consisting of exfoliator (consisting of polyethylene, silicone resin, and so on) 6, white inorganic powder (colloidal silica and so on) to transmit easily sublimating gas of colorless sublimating dyes, and a binder (resin similar to the above examples) is formed on layer 3 to produce an electrostatic clay paper. Then, the clay paper is caused to contact closely onto the particle image including colorless sublimating dye on the photosensitive plate, and transcription is performed by applying a voltage and pressure, so that a clear picture without fogging can be obtained.
