Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a scanner small-size and light-weight, by providing the first rotary polyhedron which permits infrared rays out of the incident light to pass through and reflects visible rays, a visible ray detector which detects the reflection light of the first rotary polyhedron, the second rotary polyhedral mirror which reflects permeating infrared rays, and an infrared ray detector which detects the reflection light of t he second rotary polyhedral mirror.
CONSTITUTION: Parallel incident rays are condensed by lens 13 using CaF2, and are made into a parallel light flux again by lens 2 of the same materials. Only visible rays out of the output of convex lens 14 are reflected by the first rotary polyhedral mirror 15 and are condensed by quartz convex lens 16 and are detected by visible ray detector 17 such as an SiCCD. Infrared rays permeate the first rotary polyhedron 15 and are reflected by the second rotary polyhedron 18 and are condensed by CaF2 convex lens 19 and are detected by infrared ray detector 20 consisting of InSb and so on. In respect to rotary polyhedral mirror 15, materials are sapphire, and Ge is coated on the surface, and SiO2 is coated on Ge. As a result, the scanner can be small-size and light-weight.
