PURPOSE:To decrease an error due to a temperature for locating the magnetic head, by forming a capstan for moving the head through a bunt or a carriage, etc. by use of a material whose coefficient of thermal expansion is same as that of the magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:A head 3 provided on a carriage 4 is moved to the position corresponding to the angle of rotation theta of a capstan 6 through a bunt 5 and a carriage 4 which are fixed to the capstan 6 by a pin 7. When a temperature is varied by DELTAt degrees against the same angle of rotation theta of this capstan, a position 32 of the head 3 against the disk 1 is shifted by the shift amount epsilon based on the equation (1). (X1 and X2 show distances from the center of the disk 1 to the limit point of the range where the magnetic head reaches; alpha and beta show the coefficients of thermal expansion of the disk 1 and the capstan 6). Accordingly, when the capstan 6 is formed by use of a material whose coefficient of thermal expansion is same as that of the disk 1, the shift amount epsilon becomes ''0'', and a head locating error due to a temperature does not occur.
