CONSTITUTION:A pair of head chips 1a, 3a in which a window 5 for winding is provided in the central part of each, a narrow track working groove 9 of a semicircular shape is provided to the top end face so as to be continuous to the window 5, and head gaps 2a, 4b respectively having azimuth angles alpha, beta are formed in the upper part of the grooves 9. Both head chips 1a, 3a are joined to both sides of a spacer 10 consisting of a nonmagnetic material at the surface on their gap 2a, 4a sides to form a subassembly. Next, this is inserted into the U-shaped notched part 11 of a head slider 6a and is fixed thereto, whereby the magnetic head for azimuth recording is obtained.
