Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a readily injection moldable molding material, having improved appearance, and suitable for a rotating body or electric parts, which must be kept away from noise or heat storage, by adding a large amount of a specific metallic powder to polytetramethylene terephthalate resin.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. Polymer consisting of polytetramethylene terephthalate essentially is incorporated with 60W900pts.wt., preferably 65W450pts.wt., one or more types of metallic powders, having a particle size of preferably 14W400mesh and a particle diameter of about 0.01W1,000μ, and selected from copper, brass, bronze, nickel silver, stainless steel, iron alloy, nickel, nickel alloy, zinc, tin, aluminum, gold, silver and platinum. The polytetramethylene terephthalate preferably has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.4W1.5 measured by using a solution thereof in a mixed solvent of tetrachloroethane with phenol in equal amounts, and the copper, brass, stainless steel, zinc, iron alloy and aluminum are preferred as the metallic powders.
