Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover noble metals alone as an alloy or a mixture by dissolving and removing a base metallic substrate chemically or electrochemically to separate a crude noble metallic alloy, dissolving the alloy in acid, and adding a reducing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A noble metallic alloy is recovered from a composite material obtd. by coating the surface of a base metallic substrate with the alloy. In the 1st process the substrate is dissolved and removed by chemically or electrochemically, and in the 2nd process the crude noble metallic alloy is dissolved in acid. In the 3rd process the acid soln. is neutralized and mixed to form a precipitate, and by adding a chemical reducing agent, the noble metals are recovered as an alloy or a mixture.
