Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the input efficiency of a DC power source by producing an AC power from a power source side during the period while a current flowing from the power terminal of a polyphase AC power source to a polyphase full-wave rectifier is paused, rectifying it and superposing it on the output DC power. CONSTITUTION:The voltage of a 3-phase power source is converted into a direct current through a 3-phase full-wave rectifying diode bridge D, the direct current is applied to a load L, and AC controlling elements S1-S3 and the primary coil of an inductance LL are connected in series between the neutral point N of a 3-phase power source and the terminal of the 3-phase power source. The secondary coil of the inductance LL is superposed serially with the DC output through a rectifier DD, and the elements S1-S3 are controlled by a controlling circuit G. Accordingly, the elements S1-S3 are sequentially turned ON during the respective phase current pause zone in the diode bridge D, and the power of the power source side can be thus superposed with the output, thereby largely improving the input power factor.
