Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure a stabilized phase for the waveform of a driving signal to ensure a steady tracking action of a rotary head and at the same time realize a high- quality slow motion reproduction, by using a signal of a prescribed period for the driving signal of the rotary head. CONSTITUTION:A consecutive scan is given to a tape 2 having a recorded track at a speed of 1/N times as high as that of a recording mode by means of the rotary heads A and B provided to a rotor opposedly to each other. In this case a pulse (i) obtained by detecting the rotation of the rotor and a control pulse (j) recorded previously on the tape 2 and having the traveling phase information are applied to an FF37. Then a signal having a period equal to the 2N track scan period synchronous with the output of the FF37 is applied to a head moving mechanism 4. Thus a driving signal is obtained to give a substantial displacement to the heads A and B in the opposite direction to each other and by an equal degree. Then a signal (j) is supplied to the timers 41 and 42 in the form of a trigger pulse to secure a synchronism between the changing point of a driving signal waveform and the scan position of the tape 2.
