Abstract

PURPOSE: To trace easily and accurately information tracks recorded by the optical system and so on, by zugzagging bits minutely during a certain period and by avoiding superposition onto the zigzagging period of adjacent tracks.
CONSTITUTION: When frame pulse FP is inputted to FF25, FF25 repeats "0" and "1" alternately each time disc 10 rotates once, and this output is inputted to one end of exclusive OR circuit 26, however, output 7' from frequency dividing circuit 23 is inputted to the other end, and therefore, the phase of output signal 7 of circuit 26 is inverted at the N-th rotation for the (N+1)-th rotation. This signal 7 is used as the gate signal of gate circuit 5; and when the output signal of frequency dividing circuit 22 is inputted to circuit 5, output signal 12 has phases, where the signal of frequency f1 appears at the N-th rotation and the (N+1)-th rotation, shifted alternately. When a minute spot on disc 10 is deflected in the radius direction slightly by optical deflector 4 according to this signal 12, tracks having zigzag period which are discontinuous in the rotation direction and are not superposed onto them of adjacent tracks in the radius direction are formed on the disc. Consequently, information recording tracks can be traced accurately.
