Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of hash marks on the surface of coating objects, by subjecting a low voltage to the coating object until it sinks into the electrodeposition coating to some extent, when soaking the coating object into the electrodeposition coating under condition where there is no other coating objects in the elecdeposition coating paint.
CONSTITUTION: When coating object A is soaked into electrodeposition coating material C in electro deposition coating tank B, and when there is no other coating object A' in electrodeposition coating material C, the voltage to be impressed is adjusted to a remarkably low level than the high level voltage applied usually at the time of continuous operation, until the coating object sinks into electrodeposition coating material C to some extent. In this way, striped steps, so called hash mark, usually formed on the surface of coating object A, is prevented. The change-over between the low voltage and high voltage is performed by location detecting device E, then detects that coating object A is soaked to a prescribed position.
