Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the forming of a coating layer on each magnesium plate by the surface coating treatment by providing a shield facing to a part of a negative magnesium plate on an opening of an air electrode frame. CONSTITUTION:The back surface of a negative magnesium plate 8 is coated entirely as a conventional plate, and only vicinity of a connecting wire part 12 on the face facing to an air battery electrode is coated. A shield 15 connected to an inner rib 7 is provided on an opening 4 of an air electrode frame 1. The shield 15 shields the inside of the air electrode, ion current on this part does not attain to the negative magnesium plate, the magnesium plate remains undissolved with a shape of the shield 15, and thus the effect which is same to that of a conventional coated film can be obtained.
