Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable registering of explicit fingerprints in a simple way without hurting feelings of a fingerprinted person, by a method wherein a sheet, whereon a given microcapsule layer containing a colorless coloring agent is coated, is used. CONSTITUTION:The microcapsule layer, containing a coloring agent (a colorless organic compound having an electron transmission property, for example, triaryl methane compound), which colors when it is brought into contact with a solid acid, is placed on a support substance to form a fingerprint sheet. Particle diameter of said layer is 3-50mu, and delta/D (where delta is a number mean film thickness and D is a volume mean particle diameter) is 1X10<-3>-5X10<-2>. Fingers of a person to be fingerprinted are rubbed against said fingerprinting sheet, and the fingers of said person are then pressed against a developing sheet coated with the solid acid having an electron reception property (clays, polyvalent metallic salts of aromatic carbonic acid and the like). This registers the fingerprints on the developed sheet.
