Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the running noise like tape squeaking, by decreasing the dynamic friction coefficient, by coating the surface of magnetic powder by use of glyceride and phosphate and providing the magnetic recording layer dispersed the coated magnetic powder to the coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:Glyceride which is fatty acid ester of glucerine and whose fatty acid has saturated hydrocarbon residual radical of 12-20C or 1-2 double bonds in hydorcabon residual radical of C18, and a solution containing phosphate of alkylphenol or higher alochol of <=10 parts by weight to the magnetic powder 100pts.wt. and <=10pts.wt. in total, are mixed with the magnetic powder. After both the agents are adsorbed on the surface of magnetic powder, the coated magnetic powder is manufactured by heating and drying. Next a magnetic paint is prpared by adding the bonding agent resin and curing agent, if required, to this magnetic powder. This paint is coated and dried on the base like polyester to obtain the tape having good dispering property of magnetic powder, small dynamic friction coefficient, excellent characteristics of recording and playback and good durability.
