Abstract
PURPOSE:To bring an original feeding belt into right contact with a platen, by providing the side plate with a reverse rotation torque exerting device for counteracting the rotation torque of the automatic original feeder of a copying machine due to its own weight, and providing the other side plate with a torque generating device for correcting distortion caused by said rotation torque. CONSTITUTION:An automatic original feeder for feeding a copying original has right side plate 32 and left side plate 33. Both these plates 32, 33 are supported pivotally about pins 30a, 31a on support legs 30, 31, and at the same time fixed with lateral rods 34, 35. Plate 32 has torsion spring 37 fixed with itself, and the other end of spring 37 is held with support leg 36. Spring 37 exerts torque T on plate 32. This torque T is made equal to the torque caused by the own weights of G3, G4 of each plate. The end of stabilizer shaft 38 is fixed to plate 32, and torque T is corrected with stabilizer 39 supported with fixed engaging piece 40.
