Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily correct the zigzag movement of a belt, by rotating bearing members at both the ends of the belt, on horizontal planes centering the longitudinal centers of the members. CONSTITUTION:When the angle alpha between the moving direction A of a belt 1 and the axis D of a copying drum 13 which is used as a reference is not square, the first bearing member 24 and the second bearing member 25 are rotated in the direction of an arrow E centering support shafts 26, 27 to correct the angle alpha to 90 deg.. The bearing members are then secured on the support shafts 26, 27. In order to absorb the elongation of the belt 1, the first support shaft 26 is supported movably in a direction F parallel with the moving direction of the belt. The deflection of the belt can be prevented only by slightly displacing the first support shaft 26 downward. Two light sensors may be provided to compare their output currents with each other to judge whether the belt moves zigzag.
