Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent lenses from cracking at the time when holes for insertion of screws are provided to the lenses by using natural rubber or synthetic rubber in place of hinges used for opening and closing temples thereby making the temples openable and closable. CONSTITUTION:The end face of a small columnar boly of rubber is bonded to the outer edge of the inside surface of a lens, and the leading end of the inside surface of temples is suspended to the other end of the columnar body, wherein it is so bonded that the temples position parallel to the spectacle frame. The columnar body is formed to a square or circular shape in section or the central part of a circular cylinder is recessed like an hourglass or both sides of a square column are formed to a recessed shape. Since the columnar body is made of rubber and is easy to bend, the opening and closing of the temples are easy, and since the temples are mounted by means of adhesives, their mounting is easy. When the spectacles are put on, the temples lightly contact the face under pressure by the elasticity of the rubber columnar bodies, and this gives a stable feel.
