Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform subsequent coating satisfactorily and improve the quality of coat by removing the sludge stuck on the surface of metal after dip type phosphate chemical treatment by a method such as applying brushing or blowing high-pressure washing water to said surface.
CONSTITUTION: Not merely washing water is sprayed to the chemical conversion coating surface stuck with sludge after the abovementioned chemical conversion treatment, but brushing is applied thereto, or high-pressure water is sprayed or an acidic or basic soln. is contacted therewith. Otherwise, simultaneous execution of the abovedescribed plural methods is acceptable as well. The abovementioned brushing is accomplished by rotating brushes such as those of automatic car washers, and less or more stiff brushes are used depending upon purposes. The acidic or basic soln. is properly used according to paints when the later painting is electrodeposition painting. For example, if electrodeposition paint is of cationic type, the acidic soln. is used, and if of anionic type, the basic soln. is used.
