Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a plant scale per unit throughput, by rotating an agitator made by fixing many agitating rods on a rotary shaft installed communicatively from the top to the bottom of a vertical tower in order to produce a temperature gradient in the tower.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling means 3 is installed on the part of a purification tower higher than the feed pipe 2 of a raw material to adjust a temperature to that suitable for crystallization of the crystallizable component in the material fed. This cooling means 3 is properly selected in accordance with crystallization temperature, and the generally adopted means are indirect cooling by a cooling medium, a method of leading out part of the mother liquor to an external cooler and circulating it, etc. Discharge pipe 5 for taking-out the mother liquor at the uppermost level is provided at the upper part of the tower, and heating means 4 is installed in the lower part of the tower. Discharge pipe 6 is provided on the bottom of the tower to take out the purified crystal molten in the crystal melting zone.
