Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition is made by mixing a hydroxyl-containing amine and an acid phosphate alkyl ester as fire-proofing components with an amino resin as a coating vehicle, thus giving coating films with high transparency, high moisture resistance, crack resistance and fire-proofing properties.
CONSTITUTION: An amino resin such as urea or melamine resin, preferably in the solution form of 40W80% concentration in water or a solvent, as a coating vehicle, is mixed with a hydroxyl-containing amine, preferably diethanolamine and an acidic phosphate alkyl ester, preferably butyl acid phosphate or β-chloroethyl acid phosphate as fire-proofing components to give the objective composition. The resultant composition is preferably heated at 50W100°C for 0.25W2hr, because the drying of coating film is accelerated and the physical properties are improved.
