Abstract

PURPOSE: To cause a floating force which is based on the interaction between field units and conductor plates, by placing the conductor plates on a track in the face of the field unit on vehicle, and to automatically maintain a center line as to the track, by arranging armature windings and sliders in right and left symmetric positions.
CONSTITUTION: Numerous armature windings 5 are provided at both the sides of a braking track 8. A thin insulating sheet 24, a conductor plate 4 and a track sheet 21 made of a nonmagnetic, electroconductive and lubricating metal material are coated on each armature winding 5. A pair of sliders 1 are mounted on the body 10 of the vehicle so that the sliders slide along the track sheets 21. Field units 3 for driving and repulsion are supported on the sliders 1. Other field units 6 for causing horizontal thrusting forces opposite to each other by interaction with the paired armature windings 5 are also supported on the sliders 1. According to this constitution, the gap between the armature winding 5 and the field unit 3 is kept at the minimum to heighten driving efficiency and the concentricity of the body of the vehicle to the track is automatically maintained.
