Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to control effectively blast amount at a blast furnace tuyere over a greet extent without the need of valve mechanism, by giving jets laving a direction component counter to blast direction to a branch pipe of the blast furnace tuyere. CONSTITUTION:Tuyere branch pipes 2 are jointed to a publicly known circular pipe 1 connected with a hot air main pipe so that hot air can be blown into a blast furnace at tuyere 4 installed on the furnace wall. The branch pipe 2 is provided with jet nozzle header 5, in which nozzles 6 are formed in the direction counter to the blast direction of branch pipe 2. Therefore, blast amount in a tuyere branch pipe is controlled by injecting controlling jets of high pressure in a condition against the flow velocity at a tuyere and producing a pressure loss due to the momentum effect of jet.
