Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a light multiplexing equipment which is stable and high in multiplicity, by executing a frequency modulation plural times to a light beam of single mode from one laser. CONSTITUTION:A radiation light beam of the laser 1 which is made to oscillate by a single longitudinal mode is input to the branching light frequency modulator 2-1. When the modulator 2-1 is driven by an electric signal having constant frequency (f) by use of the oscillator 6, the light beam is frequency-modulated in the modulator 2-1, and branches to a light beam of wave lenght lambda0 and that of lambda0+DELTAlambda. The light beam of lambda0 and that of lambda0+DELTAlambda are input to the light modulator 3-0 through the saturation light amplifier 7-0, and the branching frequency modula tor 2-2, respectively, A radiation light beam of this modulator 2-2 is made to branch to that of lambda0+DELTAlambda which has not been wave-length-shifted and that of lambda0+2DELTAlambda which has been shifted. The light beam of lambda0+DELTAlambda passes through the saturation light amplifier 7-1 once again and is input to the light modulator 3-1, and the light beam of lambda0+2DELTAlambda is input to the branching light frequency modulator 2-3. Said procedures are repeated (n) times, and the radiation light beams from each modulator are collected to one light path by the light beam synthesizer 4.
