Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the accuracy of diagnosis by using an automatic diagnostic system which permits indicating clearly on a display not only the process and results of diagnosis but also a branched diagnosis diagram.
CONSTITUTION: A central processing unit (CPU) 1 serving as a means for executing a successive branched diagnosis by a branching logic method is adapted to actuate input and output units, such as a keyboard 4 and a CRT display, and RAM3, on the basis of programs or data stored in ROM2 and RAM. A cassette type magnetic tape 6, in which a plurality of symptom patterns of diseases and branching diagnosis diagrams are stored, is used to rewrite the content of RAM3. Various types of sensors 7 for use in detecting a symptom of an object to be examined, in accordance with a symptom searching instruction from CPU1, are connected to CPU1 through an I/O port 8 serving as an input and output terminal, and detected symptom data are sent to CPU1. Various data are indicated on a display 5.
