Abstract
PURPOSE:To sufficiently compensate a strain of a laser diode by increasing the feedback rate of the feedback current to the base of a transistor due to the current flowing through a photodiode. CONSTITUTION:A signal from a signal input terminal 8 is amplified by a Darlington-connection amplifying circuit having transistors 1, 2, and a laser diode 6 allows to emit a light in response to the input signal. The emitted light signal of the laser diode 6 is partly detected by the photodiode 11. Signal components corresponding to the DC signal and the AC signal contained in the emitted light signal are extracted from the output signal of the photodiode 11, and the base bias of the transistor 1 is controlled by the DC component. After the AC component is amplified by an amplifier 16, it is fed back to the base of the transistor 1 negatively.
