Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent knocking action in an engine for its high loaded operation at medium and low speed, by directly injecting water or anti-knocking agent synchronously with the open-close movement of an intake valve into a combustion chamber of the engine in its intake stroke.
CONSTITUTION: A stem 6 moves sliding downward in a valve guide 7 till it reaches the maximum lifting point of a valve and a piston part of the valve lowers, then water in a water tank 20 is sucked into a pump chamber 14. During a time from the maximum lifting point to the seating of an intake valve 5 to its valve seat 9 with further rotation of a cam, the intake valve 5 moves upward. Then the piston part provided in the valve stem 6 moves upward to reduce the volume of the pump chamber 14, thus the sucked water in the pump of chamber 14 is fed out to a delivery passage 16 through a delivery valve 15. This water passes through a grooved stripe 11 belowed in a peripheral face of the intake valve seat 9 and is directly injected into a combustion chamber 4 from a small hole 10.
