Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a titled stopper which has no possibility for breaking down the stopper body owing to thermal deformation by coupling the top part of the stopper body made of refractories and a spindle made of metal by means of screwing the spindle having a clearance for tightening a nut to abut on an elastic packing made of refractories. CONSTITUTION:At the time of mounting the spindle 14 of this gas blow type stopper to a stopper body 11, a packing 20 made of refractories having elasticity is abutted onto the top part of the body 11, and is tightened by means of nuts 16, 16. By this tightening, the packing 20 is compressed and a spindle 14 having an external screw 15 in the lower part is screwed into a screw hole 12 in the state that said spindle 14 is pulled upward. Hence, a clearance owing to a difference in diameters and a clearance owing to backlash are produced between the external screw 15 and the screw hole 12. When the spindle 14 thermally expands in this state, the external screw 15 elongates in a manner as to reduce the backlash in the longitudinal direction, and elongates in a manner as to reduce the spacing S owing to the difference from the screw hole 12 in the diametral direction, therefore the breakdown of the body 11 does not occur.
