Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a self-aligned clutch release bearing of simple construction which keeps a once sefl-aligned state without deviation and whose maximum self- alignment quantity is made so large that it is twice as much as the eccentricity.
CONSTITUTION: A release hub 2 is movably fitted on a hub retainer 1 secured on a transmission case or the like. A bearing cover 3 is secured on the hub 2 and surrounds the outer race 5 of a bearing 4. An eccentric step 5b is provided on the peripheral surface of the outer race 5. Aligning balls 7A, 7B are placed at equiangular positions in the eccentric opening 6 between the peripheral surface of the eccentric step 5b and the inside surface 3b of the bearing cover 3. The diameters d1, d2 of the balls 7A, 7B are made different from each other so that the balls come into contact with the peripheral surface of the step 5b and the inside surface 3b of the cover 3. The balls 7A, 7B are housed in the pockets 8a of a clearance maintaining member 8. Rollers 9 for previous pressurization are provided so that they roll in contact with the inside end face 3C of the cover 3. The rollers 9 are housed in the pocket 8b of the clearance maintaining member 8.
