PURPOSE: To enhance result of a fluidized bed reaction, by mixing catalyst grains of various diameters in specified proportions in order to use them in the fluidization reactor.
CONSTITUTION: In the fluidized bed reaction for producing melamine from urea in presence of ammonia, etc., the grain diameter distribution of its catalyst is prepared as follows: (a+b+c+d+e+f+g+h)=100, 30≤(f+g+h)≤60, (b-c), (c-d) and (d-e)<13, and (e+f)<35, where a, b, c, d, e, f, g, and h are wt% of the grains of >350, 250W350, 177W250, 149W177, 105W149, 74W105, 50W74, and >50 microns, respectively, and in addition, a≤5, b≤15, c, d, e, f, and g≤20, h≤25. Use of such catalyst prevents bubbling, slugging, etc. in the fluidized bed of the catalyst, and enhances reaction result.
