Abstract

PURPOSE: To color-code the material to be treated to two colors of an edge part and a central part and color the same efficiently by subjecting the Al or Al alloy after having been formed with an anodic oxidation film to two processes of intermediate processing and further two processes of coloring treatment under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: An ordinary anodic oxidation film is formed on Al or Al alloy which is the material to be treated, in the 1st process. In the 2nd process, it is electrolyzed by using a barrier type film treating soln. contg. inorg. acids, org. acids or their salts, so that a difference in the thickness of the barrier layer is produced in the edge part and the central part. Next, in the 3rd process, electrolytic treatment is applied by using electrolyte of porosity growth type, whereby the barrier layer in the central part of the material to be treated is modified and colorability is improved. Next, in the 4th process, the central part of the material to be treated is colored by using electrolytic coloring soln. contg. metallic salts, after which the material is subjected to electrolytic coloring or dyeing treatment in the 5th process, whereby the edge part of the material is colored to the color tone differing from that of the central part.
