Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit transmission of less light losses by inserting lenses between one optical fiber and an optical fiber bundle consisting of a plurality of optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:Lenses 9, 10 are disposed by aligning their optical axes between one optical fiber 1 and plural optical fibers 8 constituting an optical fiber bundle 3. The end face of the fiber 1 is placed in the focal position of the lens 9 and the end face of the bundle 3 in the focal position of the lens 10. The image of the core of a radius 2r of the fiber 1 is formed on the end face of the bundle 3 by expanding to the radius 2R1 of the outer circle of the core of the optical fiber bundle. The light from the fiber 1 passes the lens 9, by which it is made into parallel luminous fluxes and the image of the diameter 2R1 is formed on the end faces of the optical fiber bundle. Thereby, the light is transmitted at less losses.
