Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a soil conditioner having an excellent compressive strength and water-stopping effect and exhibiting reduced syneresis to separate less amt. of water from hardened gel, by using a system consisting of water glass-alkali bisulfate-alkali aluminate or a system containing phosphate additionally.
CONSTITUTION: A soil conditioner consists of water glass in amount of 7.5W12.5 wt% in terms of SiO2, alkali bisulfate of 3.0W8.1wt% in terms of H2SO4, alkali aluminate of 0.05W0.55wt% in terms of Al2O3, and the balance of water. The soil conditioner has high-strength, high water-stopping effect, reduced syneresis. It causes no environmental pollution in the neutral condition and the precipitation of Al(OH)3 is prevented by the chelating effect of the Al ions generated by the addn. of 0.2W1wt% (in terms of P2O5) of prim. sodium phosphate or sodium tripolyphosphate to the system. The obtained soil conditioner has a pH in a neutral range and therefore causes no environmental pollution.
