Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of recording in the winding beginning part of a tape by so constituting the recorder that when the tape arrives at the tape winding beginning in the tape rewinding state having been set by opening and closing of a switch shifts to the silent recording state. CONSTITUTION:When a tape rewinding operation is started by closing a switch 8a at the time ta, the tape is completely wound to the supplying reel turntable side, and stops running at the time tb. When the time tc after a constant time from the time tb is reached, a mechanism 10 changes over automatically from the rewinding operation to recording via buffers 6a, 6b, etc. Further, after the time tc, the recording is continued while recording is being muted via an FF circuit 12, etc., and the silent part is made for a constant time from its winding beginning. When the pulse signals entering a counter 14 reaches constant number of times after the time tc, the recording muting is released at td and the mechanism 10 assumes the recording pause state. With such constitution, the constant section of the tape winding beginning where level fluctuations or the like are frequent is made silent part and this improves the quality of recording.
