Abstract
PURPOSE: To considerably save the amount of fuel consumption for regeneration of waste sand by making effective use of the sensible heat of the high-temp. waste gas emitting from a fluidized calcining furnace at the time of regenerating the knocked- out molding sand after casting as molding sand in said calcining furnace.
CONSTITUTION: Waste sand 18 of knocked-out moldings is put in a dryer 17 and is dried therein, after which it is preheated to 100W130°C, thence it is supplied by a conveyor 21 into a fluidized calcining furnace 1. In the furnace 1, the waste sand 9 is held in a fluidized state in a fluidized calcining chamber 2 by the air blown by a blower 4 and is calcined to 800°C by an attached oil gun, thence it enters an air preheating chamber 3, where it preheats the fluidizing air from the blower 4, as high-temp. fired sand 10. The sand 10 is cooled, and enters a fluidized cooling chamber 11, where it is fluidized by the air from a blower 13 and is further cooled, thence it enters a mixer 12 where it is mixed with new sand 20. This sand is used for molding. The high-temp. air from the chamber 11 is utilized for drying the new sand 19, and the high-temp. waste gas from the furnace 1 is heat-exchanged in a heat exchanger 15 to heat the air from the blower 16 and is utilized for drying the waste sand 18.
