Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a stable oscillation frequency by inserting a capacitor between an energizing electrode and the earth so that the equivalent capacity between each energizing electrode of a quartz oscillator and the earth is 0.8-1.2. CONSTITUTION:Capacitor Ca is inserted between quartz oscillator Xtal and the earth. The electrostatic capacities between the energizing electrodes of the quartz oscillator and a metallic case are denoted as CH1 and CH2 respectively. Then, parallel composite capacity CA of Ca and CH1 is Ca+CH1, and while composite capacity CB of Cb, Cc and CH2 is as shown by equation 1, series composite capacity C is as shown by equation 2. Series composite capacity C can, therefore, be held nearly constant by setting Ca, Cb and Cc adequately. Further, the ratio of CA and CB can be within the range of 0.8-1.2 by setting Ca, Cb and Cc properly and even if the quarz oscillator oscillates, fluctuations of the oscillation frequency can be eliminated.
