Abstract

PURPOSE: To cultivate molds in high concentration without causing contamination resulting from various germs and to intend rise in yield of mold, by returning partly molds as seed molds prepared from processes after washing process after cultivation to a culture tank.
CONSTITUTION: A medium and oxygen are fed to the culture bath 1 and the cultivation of microorganisms is carried out aerobically with stirring. Molds are sent to the centrifugal separator 6, washed with cleaning water and separated, concentrated by the filter press 11, and dried to give a product. The molds prepared from the processes after washing process as seed microorganisms are partly returned to the cultivation tank 1 by the return pipe 10. Thus cultivation with an initial concentration ≥20g-dry cell/l is carried out. This method is used for cultivation of various kinds of yeast, bacilli, molds, and ray fungi.
