Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for an electromagnetic coil for keeping a valve in an opening and closing condition, by a method wherein an operation of a valve for opening and shutting the passage of a cooler coolant is controlled by means of a temperature-sensitive ferrite.
CONSTITUTION: A temperature-sensitive ferrite 22 is positioned outside a permanent magnet 21. The temperature-sensitive ferrite 22 which is pressed such that it becomes a ferromagnetic substance when a detection temperature is below a Currie point, and it becomes a low magnetic substance when the detection temperature is above the Currie point, is used. As a result, the ferrite 22 acts as a ferromagnetic substance when the detection temperature of the temperature-sensitive ferrite 22 is below the Currie point, and thereby a most part of the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 21 flows to an outer case 19, the temperature-sensitive ferrite 22, an outer case 20, and in the order named above. Meanwhile, it does not flow to a suction unit 17 and a moving iron core 15, and as a result, valve body 16 shuts a fluid path 11. When the temperature-sensitive substance 22 becomes the low magnetic substance, the valve opens. This permits the elimination of an electromagnetic coil which keeps the valve body in an opening and a closing state.
