Abstract

CONSTITUTION: When switch 25 is turned on, control unit MTU diagnosing part 28 sends a signal to magnetic tape device MTU20 through gate control part 26 and gate 23 to detect the operatable state between device MTU and itself. Diagnosing part 28 sends a signal to display control part 29 and holds gate 23 in the turning-on state and lights display element 27 to enter the transmission and receiving enable state for device 20 and incorporates device 20 under the control of control part 28. As a result, states such as satisfactory diagnostic result and fault detection can be displayed definitely for the operator in execution of diagnosis, so that the operation efficiency and reliability of the system can be improved.
