Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a photosensitive lithographic plate with an emulsion layer stuck to it by proper strength, by coating a silver halide emulsion directly on a layer containing an oleophilic resin on a base, and drying it with hot air without setting it. CONSTITUTION:The first layer containing a water-insoluble oleophilic resin, such as a novolak type phenol resin is formed on a base having a hydrophilic surface, such as an aluminum plate subjected to treatment for raising hydrophilicity. A silver halide emulsion is coated on the first layer in 1-10g/m<2> by dry basis, and dried with 60-150 deg.C hot air without setting to form an emulsion layer. It is preferable that initial drying is conducted by weakly applying 60-100 deg.C hot air, and subsequent drying is promoted gradually by applying strongly 70-150 deg.C hot air. Said emulsion layer does not peel off during development, and can be easily removed by following treatment with 40-60 deg.C warm water.
