Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the foreign matter in molding and from being caught by an electrode and obtain accurate electric resistance value (it is expressed in terms of moisture value) by intermittently and vertically moving the electrode for measuring the electric resistance of the molding sand. CONSTITUTION:An electrode supporting body 8 buried with an electrode 7 is mounted to the bottom end of a supporting plate 9 which is made vertically movable by a parallel link mechanism. The top end of the supporting plate 9 is connected via a chain 17 to the dog 18 of a piston rod which is moved vertically by a cylinder 19. The terminal of a limit switch 20 is abutted on the dog 18.
