Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the processing speed for a laser recorder, laser reader and the like, by carrying out a simultaneous scanning of plural lines by means of plural units of semiconductor lasers. CONSTITUTION:The semiconductor lasers 35a and 35b which are integrated in a stepped or taper form receive an independent modulation of intensity by the individual current driving circuits 36 and 37. The picture signals 41 and 40 equivalent to two lines are applied to the circuits 36 and 37 from the pattern generating circuit 39. The picture signal 42 to be applied to the circuit 36 delays the picture signal 41 through the delay circuit 38. The laser beams given from the laser beam source 34 are changed into the parallel beams through the collimating lens 43 and put into a mirror surface of the rotary polyhedral mirror 44. The parallel beams reflected on the mirror surface are converted into the equi-speed linear scan through the Ftheta lens 45 or the like and at the same time condensed to draw two scanning lines 47 on the photosensitive drum 46.
