Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a device capable of inputting a sufficient quantity of light by providing an anamorphic optical system wherein the input rate of a light beam in a light-beam deflecting direction and that of a light beam component perpendicular to the light-beam deflecting direction are different. CONSTITUTION:A light source part consists of semiconductor lasers 1a and 1b, and the array direction of those laser light emitting sources is nearly at right angles to a direction where in light beams are deflected, and an image-formation optical system which forms the image of the light beam from the light source on a photosensitive medium 6 is anamorphic optical one where in the image-formation magnification in the beam polarization direction differs from that in its rectangular direction. While corona discharge is caused on the photosensitive medium 6, the photosensitive medium 6 is irradiated with light beams for picture formation to form a latent image, and the interval P of a adjacent light beam spots scanning on the medium 6 is given by equation I.
