Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance thermal efficiency and transfer and fixing efficiencies by providing a member for heating the joining part of a transfer blanket and a pressure roller so as to prevent an once heated paper from cooling before arriving at a transfer position. CONSTITUTION:A pressure roller 15 is so arranged as to press paper 16 to a transfer blanket 12 on the circumference of a supporting roller 14. Lamps such as, for example, infrared ray lamps, halogen lamps or xenon lamps or nichrome wire heaters and the like are used for the heat source 17 for heating the joining part 18 of the transfer blanket 12 and the pressure roller 15. It is preferable that the heat source 17 is disposed within an angle theta so that the radiation heat generated therefrom arrives at the joining part 18 and near the side just before the same and can effectively heat these. With such constitution, the toner image and paper on the transfer blanket are efficiently heated and the thermal efficiency and transfer and fixing efficiencies are enhanced.
