Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a speaker which has a high efficiency, high performance and an increased reproducing band, by increasing the thickness gradually from the center part toward the outer circumference of the speaker diaphragm of such system in which the diaphragm is driven at the area near its outer circumference. CONSTITUTION:Diaphragm 18 consists of flat plate type face component 21 which forms the sound pressure radiating surface, curved plate type face component 22 which is provided at the driving side to oppose to component 21 with a distance, and honeycomb-structure substance 23 which increases its thickness gradually from the center part toward the outer circumference and is provided between components 21 and 22. And the thickness of diaphragm 18 itself also increases from the center part toward the outer circumference as a whole. With such constitution, the diameter of center pole 12 increases to avoid the magnetic saturation and thus prevent the lowering of the speaker's efficiency. At the same time, the reproducing band can be increased owing to the shape of diaphragm 18.
