Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of optical axis deviation and internal loss by such constitution that a spring type cylinder housing a rod lens having prescribed attenuation-characteristics in the central part is inserted and fixed into a cylindrical enclosing device and connectors having optical fibers are inserted and connected to the small-diameter parts at both ends of the spring type cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The bore of a spring type cylinder 11 consisting of phosphor bronze or the like is expanded by way of its slit 12, and a convergent rod lens 14 having prescribed attenuation characteristics is inserted and fixed into the large- diameter part at the center. This is inserted into an enclosing device 7 fitted with a locating ring 18 consisting of a C-shaped spring in the annular recess at the central part, and is fixed by fitting the ring 18 into the annular recess 13 of the cylinder 11. Optical connectors 19, 20 supporting optical fibers 21, 22 are inserted into the small-diameter parts 15, 16 at both ends of the cylinders 11 and are fixed by means of lock screws 91. Thereby the occurrence of optical axis deviation and internal loss is prevented.
