Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable running over rough terrain, by a method wherein 4 crawlers, which can run and be driven independently from each other, are mounted on four corners of a body.
CONSTITUTION: Crawler mechanisms 3 are installed on four corners of a body 1. The crawler mechanisms 3 can be driven independenlty from each other, and a clockwise and a counterclockwise turn can be performed independently. The two front crawler mechanisms 3, 3 are set by means of a pin so that their rear end parts can move rotatively in a vertical surface to the body 1, and the two rear crawler mechanisms 3, 3 are mounted by means of a pin at the front end part in the manner described above. A monitoring part 4 is positioned above the body 1, and various signals are transmitted through a remote-controlling cable 5. This constitution permits travelling over any configuration of the terrain as well as a plane and the achievement of checking and monitoring purposes.
