Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the response speed of potentiometer, by substantially decreasing the period of electric field variance, through a given amount of phase shift of AC voltage corresponding to the potential from a noncontact probe and through synchronizing detection of the AC voltages of a plurality in phase shift. CONSTITUTION:The electric field in response to the potential of the object to be measured 1 is changed with a rotary sector, and the AC voltage in response to the potential is generated from the noncontacting probe 2 providing the electrode converting the current of electric flux into the AC voltage. This voltage is the AC voltage in phase-shift of 90 deg., 180 deg. and 270 deg. with the phase shifter 6 phase shifting the output of the phase shifters 5 and 4 consisting of a capacitor C1 and operational amplifier OP2. Further, the peak value of the AC voltage is detected with the analog switch 7, capacitor C2 and operational amplifier OP4 providing switches S1- S4 switched with the gate pulse generating circuit 8 for synchronizing detection. With this constitution, the period of electric field variance can substantially be decreased without causing increased revolving speed of the rotating sector and noise, allowing to increase the response speed of potentiometer.
