Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate mold work and to eliminate a high bar phenomenon with increased mechanical strength of commutators by fixing a commutator cylinder forming a riser section by a clamping ring wherein a spider is inserted in a shaft hole and opposite end sections are closed to fill resin in a gap for unity. CONSTITUTION:A commutator cylinder 1 is made by alternately arranging commutator pieces and micas between commutator pieces forming a riser section 9, and the commutator cylinder 1 is fixed by a clamping ring 18. After applying sufficient seasoning under this state, reinforcing rings 6 are engaged by processing annular grooves 4 at the opposite end surfaces. Next, a spider 17 having a notch 12 in the shaft hole of the commutator cylinder 1 is inserted and the opposite end surfaces are sealed by a pad 13 and an upper cover 14, after preparing the whole part, resin 8 is poured in the hollow section of the spider 17 and the resin 8 is filled in a sealed space 27 by pressing by a piston 16 for hardening. Finally, the surface of the commutator cylinder is slightly cut for finishing process.
